Henriette Julien has been closely involved with Westerdokters from the start. Since autumn 2020, she has been the chief physician at Westerdokters alongside Vladan Ilic.

Cheima Bouziane studied medicine at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. In the last year of her studies, she moved to Amsterdam and completed her studies here. After this, she started a PhD program at the AMC at the University of Amsterdam with the subject “the effect of Ritalin on the brain and brain development of patients with ADHD”. In addition to this trajectory, she worked as a basic physician in general practice and her enthusiasm for this profession has become decisive to become a general practitioner. Her areas of interest are psychiatry and palliative care.

Vladan Ilić, the founder of Westerdokters, has been working for more than fifteen years as a family doctor in Amsterdam. His special interests are surgery and psychiatry. Doctor Ilić is born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and lives in Amsterdam since 1991.

My name is Karel Steur. I grew up in beautiful South Limburg. I did my medical studies in Rotterdam and completed my general practitioner training in Amsterdam. So, I kind of wander all over the country. As a general practitioner, I have a wide range of interests and I’m never judgmental, with the goal of making someone feel comfortable as quickly as possible.

Miriam Walsh is a general practitioner from the UK, currently living in the Netherlands. Before joining Westerdokters, she was working in London, UK. Miriam does not speak Dutch yet, but she is working hard to learn it. We are happy to have her on our team!
